Prescribe safely at 2 a.m.
And keep the drug book that keeps up.

The practical clinical pharmacology academy for veterinarians and vet nurses: eight modules that teach prescribing as a clinical skill — drug choice, patient adjustment, legality and monitoring — plus the GFM Formulary: 60 drugs and 156 entries, every number with its source, jurisdiction, evidence grade and the date it was last verified.

The Dilution & Draw-Up Trap Checker runs the arithmetic for you and flags the classic errors — the 10× vial, the wrong strength, the mg-vs-mL mix-up. It carries no dose of its own and never writes a prescription; every number you enter stays your number to verify.
The real problem

Most prescribing misses are not knowledge failures.

Lookup is not teaching

The reference market sells lookup and the lecture market sells slides. Neither teaches the decision: which drug for this patient, adjusted how, documented how, monitored when.

The numbers change the plan

The 2025–2026 label record moved the floor — the anti-NGF safety story and feline SGLT2-inhibitor stop rules are taught nowhere else. A course still opening with memorized tables is out of date on its most-taught topic.

A dose is a decision, not a number

Drug, species, indication, route, dose, frequency, duration — one field wrong and the arithmetic is wrong. This course teaches the five fields and the checks that catch the slips.

Six original GlobalVet frameworks

Systems you can run in the consult room.

Every lesson, case and tool uses the same six thinking tools, so they become automatic.

Prescribing

RxGATE

Guideline match · Adjust for the patient · Total math · Extra-label & documentation. The four-gate check before any prescription leaves the building.

CRI

The CRI Ladder

Five rungs to a safe constant-rate infusion: indication and target effect · load (if any) · maintain · line & label · exit plan.

Renal

RENO-STEP

Kidney dosing without guesswork: estimate function, ask the elimination share, flag narrow-index drugs, pick the offset option — then start low, track, evaluate, plan.

Safety

The ADE Lifeline

Recognize the signal · record it · report to the national authority · review the plan. Adverse-event handling as a habit that feeds pharmacovigilance.

Legal

The Cascade Compass

The extra-label direction finder: authorized product first, then the regional order — documented justification and client consent at every step.

Concentration

The CLC

Five checks before the needle moves: read the strength aloud · double-calc · check the vial · label the syringe · log the batch. Built to kill the 10× draw-up error.

Curriculum

8 modules. One path from the 2 a.m. call to the written plan.

Branching cases

Practice the hard case before it walks in.

Each branching case is a consult-room conversation: you choose what to recommend and how to explain it to the client, and the client answers. Scores: best move +2, acceptable +1, poor 0, harmful −2. The first case is free.

GFM Formulary

Every number, with its source.

Search 60 drugs and 156 entries by drug, species, indication or route — each number carries its source, jurisdiction, evidence grade and its last-verified date. The preview is free.

Final exam & certificate

Proof of learning.

30 questions drawn from every module, 80 % to pass (24 of 30). Two attempts are included; after a second fail the next attempt opens 24 hours later. Pass and you can download a verifiable certificate of completion with your study hours for your professional-development records — a certificate of completion, not accredited CE.

What the exam tests
  • Dose and math traps: concentration, mg vs mg/kg vs mg/cat, weight bands, fixed-dose cats
  • Clinical decisions: drug choice, patient adjustment, monitoring plans
  • Stewardship and legality: AMDUCA, the UK cascade, EU 2019/6, local-rules checks
  • Monitoring and adverse events: the anti-NGF watch list, renal checks, the ADE Lifeline

FAQ

Before you enroll.

Who is this for?

Veterinarians in small-animal general practice first, recently graduated veterinarians second, and veterinary nurses and technicians who draw up, dilute, program pumps and coach clients — a flagged parallel track inside the same course, with no separate product and no extra charge.

Is this a replacement for my usual reference?

It is a different product: a course that teaches prescribing, plus our own sourced, dated formulary you can search at the point of care. Keep your usual reference as a cross-check — every GFM number shows its primary source so you can verify it yourself.

How long do updates last?

Formulary updates are included for 24 months after purchase. Label changes, new approvals and safety alerts (for example Dear Veterinarian letters) land as dated entries in each monograph's update log, and only rows checked against their sources go live.

Which countries does the legal content cover?

Version 1 covers the US (AMDUCA / 21 CFR 530), the UK (VMD cascade) and the EU (Regulation 2019/6). For Hong Kong, Macau and elsewhere: check your local rules — the course teaches the decision method, not local law. Drug labels differ by country, so every drug lesson carries a region note. Doses are educational reference values to verify against a current formulary and your practice protocols.

Do nurses and technicians get value from this?

Yes — modules 2, 6 and 8 carry a flagged parallel track (draw-up safety, CRI setup and pump programming, insulin coaching, hazardous-drug handling), and quiz items are tagged so clinics can assign them to technicians. There is no separate product.

Are the doses safe to use as written?

They are educational reference values drawn from official labels, consensus guidelines and peer-reviewed papers — each tagged and dated — to verify against a current formulary and your practice protocols, and to titrate to the individual patient. No CE or accreditation is claimed; completion earns a certificate of completion only.
